SILVER SIXPENCE FOR THE LUCKY BRIDE: GREAT BRIDAL SHOWER GIFT

There is an old English custom of placing a silver Sixpence coin in the bride's shoe on her wedding day to bring luck into the marriage.
The old English Rhyme pertaining to this custom says that on her wedding day the lucky bride wears:
…
Something old, Something new,
Something borrowed, Something blue,
And a silver Sixpence in her shoe…
This listing is for a beautiful presentation of a genuine circulated .500 silver Sixpence coin (could be either from Great Britain or Australia) along with a card quoting the old rhyme.
On special requests, a vintage sterling silver coin can be sent pending availability of supply, at no extra charge.
Note that sterling silver coins from Great Britain are much older (prior to 1920) and are likely to be much more worn than the one shown in the pictures.
Sterling silver sixpence coins from Australia were minted until 1945 and afterwards .500 silver until 1963.  Requests for specific year coins will be honored pending availability.
Note: from 1947 to 1967 (the last year minted in G.B.) Sixpence coins were not minted in silver.
Also please note that the coin shown in the pictures is not necessarily the type and year that you will get.
